Can I use the USB to PS/2 adapter with an OminiView or other KVM?
A: Yes.

A:
Yes. The USB to PS/2 adapter will allow you to use a PS/2 keyboard and mouse on a
Macintosh computer that has USB ports.
Q:
I have a Macintosh G4 with a USB keyboard and mouse, how do I connect it to one
of your KVM switches?
A:
Connect the VGA cable F2N025 (included in the PS/2 cable kit [A3X982]) into the
KVM and the VGA connection on the G4. Connect the PS/2 cables for the keyboard
and mouse F2N036 (also included in the PS/2 cable kit) into the KVM and the PS/2 ports
on the USB to PS/2 adapter. Connect the USB to PS/2 adapter to the USB port on your

Q: Everytime I press the Scroll Lock keys to switch ports when Im on the Macintosh
computer, I get a prompt to power off the computer, why?
A: The Scroll Lock function maps to the power key on the Macintosh. To prevent that
from happening, follow the steps below.
1. Double click your hard drive icon and open Simple Text.
2. Press ESC_S to find out the status of the EPROM. If Y is not on the list, press ESC_Y.
You should now see Y in the list.
3.
Close Simple Text and your hard drive. The Scroll lock key is now ready to be used on
the KVM to switch between ports from the Macintosh computer without prompting
you to power off.
To reactivate the Scroll Lock key as the power key on your Macintosh follow the steps
below.
1. Go back to Simple Text and press ESC_Y to remove Y from the list.
2. Press ESC_S to verify that Y was removed from the list.
3. Close Simple Text. You can now use the Scroll Lock feature to power off your
Macintosh.
